Monochrome Madness #52 – Triples, threes and triptychs

Triptychs can be fun to see, and this week, Elke from pictures imperfect blog, has set the theme of Triptychs. She wants you to make it a tryptich, which is any three images that can make it in the challenge: three of a kind, complementary threes, a story in three steps.

I love this idea and set about seeing what I could do.

I’m sure there are many ways to put the three images today, but I decided to do them side by side in the more traditional way.

This first one is from the only day lilies that flowered in my garden this summer. They are each a different colour, but I liked how they look put together like this.

I’m not sure about this next one. The images are infrared, and I picked two statues to go on either side of the view you get when you first walk out the back. Perhaps I should have made them more black and white.

I was looking at a blog post that someone had created using images from another photographer, and I noticed one black and white image of jellyfish. I loved it, so I wondered about doing some and maybe doing a triptych of them.

The three I chose are the same jellyfish, but in different compositions. I also did a heap of other jellyfish images and will post those for Silent Sunday this coming week.

I hope you will take a look at what everyone does for this theme. Thank you to Elke for being our host this week. It was an interesting theme.

Here are the triptychs again in a gallery. Click on one to get a full screen view of them.
