Monochrome Madness – Some of my favourite images in monochrome

I’m not gonna lie, I’m so tired. My trip away for the day was exhausting. I went to some places around Lorne and over the day walked around 10kms, did over 15000 steps. We walked up hills, down hills and up steps then down the steps. It was hard work. I’m so glad I have done so much to get fitter as I would never have been able to do half of it otherwise.

I still have more work with my fitness to do, but I am liking that I could do all that. My legs will get over it, but hopefully all that will just make them stronger.

I’ve been sitting around trying to work out what to do for Monochrome Madness while trying not to fall asleep.

In the end I just thought I would go through my monochrome images and put together a selection of some of my favourites. Ones I am so glad I was able to take and then process either in black and white or monochrome.

Do you have favourites?

Next week we have another theme and another new host. Elke from elastic will be our host and she has decided on the theme of BIRDS.

It should be a fun one to do I think, but also challenging.

Participating in Monochrome Madness

If you would like to participate in this challenge please post photos on your blog and use the tag Monochrome-Madness, then I can use the reader to see what you post.

You can also leave a pingback, do they still call them that? Basically, you put a link to my monochrome madness post in your post and it leaves a link in the comment section.

Don’t forget to check out the Monochrome Madness page. On this page, the next theme is announced and there is also all the information for participating. We have also included a list of themes that will be coming in the future so if you want to be able to plan ahead you can. They aren’t in order, but will happen. Please go and check it out. Click on the Monochrome Madness heading in the menu.

Also if you would like to host one week or more, let me know.

  1. Sometimes it’s fun just to pull together a set of images that have nothing in common apart from the fact that you like them 😀 You asked about our favourites – mine are numbers 4, 6, 10 and 12. I especially like number 6, of the Flatiron Building. You’ve somehow made it look as it were the only building around, emphasising its shape even more!

I liked the favourites idea so I hunted out a few of my own: https://www.toonsarah-travels.blog/gallery-some-favourites-in-black-and-white/

    1. I agree Sarah, it is fun. Thank you for sharing your favourites, mine and yours really. The Flatiron building has always been a popular shot. I tried hard to isolate it. Thank you Sarah.

  2. helllo leanne,

a wonderful selection of pictures from your many favorites, i like them very much especially the 3rd, 5th, 12th and the last one.
here is my contribution to the challenge theme, https://wp.me/pfnz9O-rX.

    many greetings robert

  3. These are all fantastic. The Flat Iron Building and cruise ship are my faves. I like the sepia tones you’ve used.

    1. Thank you Alison, I think the Flatiron is very popular, I loved taking that one. The cruise ship was a good find too. That’s good to hear.

  4. My favourite = the shearing shed (top right in the block) — runner-up was the high-contrast Sullivan Bay shot, but the subtlety, the dark play of shades, in the shearing shed is the stand-out for me — and congrats on your fitness!

    1. Great choices Penny. That shearing shed was a great find and I was really lucky to be able to photograph it. Thank you Penny, I’m feeling so much fitter, it is so good.

  5. I know that situation of being exhausted after a long day of walking and exploring, but feeling good about it at the end of the day 😀. Lovely selection of pictures. My favorite in your set is the Flat Iron building.

  6. I really like the shearing shed. I could not picture that one in color. In B&W, it is everything!
