I found this post in the private section of my blog. I am hoping it isn’t one that I haven’t published before. It was set for 2021, so no idea what has happened with it.
I have been using lenses by Lensbaby for a number of years, and the first ones are from around 2016 when I was sent a heap of their lenses for my Nikon camera. I’m sure many of you have heard this story before. I had no idea about the lenses and had never heard of Lensbaby. The box that arrived had no information, but I figured out it was from a company that was going out of business so they gifted me the lenses. I contacted them and asked if they had sent them, and my only response was to enjoy them. I have most certainly done that.
Most of the lenses I got were for the Composer Pro and you can fit different optics into it. I’ve had a lot of fun with it. I did contact Lensbaby at the time to see if they did any ambassador stuff, and they said no. I was also sent a Lensbaby Velvet 56mm to try out. I have to say I loved it so much and used it heaps. I was meant to have it for a month, but they loved what I did that I was given the lens. I still use it now. I have also purchased the Velvet 56mm for my Fujifilm as well, plus the Composer Pro II.
They came out with a Velvet 85mm, and I did purchase it, but in the end, I sold it because I prefer the 56. I didn’t see enough of a difference between them to warrant having both. They are both great lenses.
Sadly, Lensbaby do have an ambassador program now, and by the time I found out about it I was too late, so I missed out on it. It is disappointing, but not much I can do about it. I’ve only ever tried once, and I won’t be trying again. I can just enjoy what I have.
I have put together a gallery with some images I’ve taken with the various lenses. When you click on the image, you will see a larger view of it.
Absolutely beautiful photos!! 🙂
Thank you Nicole.
Beautiful – I love the effect of the Lensbabies
They are amazing, thank you Nora.
These are so lovely Leanne. All are my favourites
That’s great to hear Brian, thank you.
Oooh!
Thanks Sue.
All of these are great, especially the black and white portrait.
Thank you Anne.
Stunning images! I’m still trying various combination. There are — as far as I can tell — a nearly unlimited number of ways you can use ON1. I don’t think I’ve gotten through even half the possibilities and of course, every filter doesn’t look equally good on every photo. I always wanted to try the Lensbaby lenses but got stopped by either money OR because I don’t know how they work.
That’s great to hear Marilyn, I have to agree with everything you have said, there are so many possibilites. The Lensbaby lenses are great fun and you can get some really cool effects, I have been lucky and haven’t had to spend a lot of monty. Thank you Marilyn.
these are beautiful and I’ve not seen them before –
Thank you Beth.
