I was looking for some photos the other day and I went searching on this blog and realised they weren’t here. So I have a heap of posts that I wrote on my old blog that I have switched off and I want them to be here. I don’t know how many I will repost here, but there are some, like my like trip to the USA that I would love to share again. I hope that works for you.
USA Wanderings: Starting at Grand Central
Yesterday was an exciting day for me. It was a day that we have been planning for a long time and yesterday morning I met some WordPress bloggers, ones that I think of as friends now. First of all I met up with Stacy from Visual Venturing. We traveled on the subway to Grand Central Station where we were meeting InfraredRobert and Robyn Graham. (I think their websites/blogs are still up, but it seems none of them are posting anymore)
It was to be the start of a major day, and I mean that we walked and walked. In fact we walked over 8 miles in the end, which is 13 kms. No wonder my feet were sore at the end of the day. I was wearing my Merrell Hiking Shoes, but I’m not used to that much walkng.
It was a great day, and I took over 800 photos, but really haven’t had time to go through them yet. I thought I would start with the photos from Grand Central Station.
A really beautiful building. I loved it, and it was so nice to just walk around and take photos and not worry about anything else. There were so many people there, but it is hardly surprising when you consider that it is a busy train station.
It was a great place to meet and take photos of.
I have a lot of comments to get through, and will attempt to get to them today. I have a fairly free weekend so I will tell you a lot more about my trip then. Today I will just leave you with the photos from the Grand Central Train Station. I think I need to rest my feet some more.
How many times have I walked thru this iconic place? A world in and of itself for sure! Thanks again for the memories! Great photos and travelogue! I haven’t been here in awhile but some things are never forgotten.
So true, I will always remember my day there, it was so good. I only got to experience it once, you are lucky you there lots of times.
Yes I know. And my Dad walked through almost every day when he worked in the city. He gave me the Grant Tour! Best wishes Leanne!
You have to smile if you can walk through somewhere gorgeous everyday. He was lucky and you were too to get the tour. Thanks Phil and best wishes to you too.
Cool 🙂
Thanks Sofia.
Fabulous! I’ve now met quite a good few fellow bloggers, some of whom have become friends. It’s one of the unexpected pleasures of blogging.
I have too Margaret, there is something about blogging that brings people together. I have met people from Instagram and am not friends with any of them anymore, but I’m still friends with many people that I have met through my blog. Thank you Margaret.
Nice series of Grand Central. The lead image of the main hall was excellent. I know from experience that that view is not an easy capture.
Regards,
Robin
Thank you Robin. I didn’t know that, so I guess I was lucky with only one chance that I managed it. Take care Robin.
No matter how many times one sees/wanders around Grand Central ….it never ceases to impress
I only got to do it once, but I think you are right. It would always amaze.Thank you.
Beautiful photos, Leanne! You have seen much more than I have.
Thank you John, oh I’m sure I haven’t.
You’ve been to cities I’ve never been to. I don’t want to see New York, no thanks.
It think one of the things about New York that makes me glad I went is that you hear it is big, but you really don’t get how big it is until you go there.
I liked it, but don’t think I would like to live there. The smells alone would put me off.
The smells? Sorry but 🤭🤭😂😂😂
When I was in New York these people were walking behind me and a woman said to them “what is that smell” and a guy with them said “oh you mean the smell of urine”
It was disgusting and it was everywhere. Problem with not having public toilets.
Oh my gosh. 😭😭
My thoughts exactly. 😯😯😊
I wish that you had a better experience in that city,
The experience was terrible, I enjoyed it, but I didn’t enjoy the smell. It is quite an amazing city. I loved San Francisco too.
I would go back to New York, though I probably never will.
I love the GRAND architecture of old train stations.
Isn’t it amazing, thank you Sandy.
Truly.
Wow! Impressive! I’ve been tjerecomcr by but I was young and don’t remember much about it other than the clock and a lot of people much bigger than me!! Lol!
Sounds like you need to go back Sally. lol. It is annoying when you go to places as a kid and then can’t remember them. Thank you.
So sorry about the mumbling comment! I need to be editing my comments as diligently as I do my actual posts. Apologies.
That’s okay, I think I worked it out. I would have fixed it, but wasn’t sure I had it right. lol. It happens to all of us. I have a friend and I often have to decipher what she is trying to tell me.
My home turf. I once led a geology tour of Grand Central Terminal. Nice work Leanne.
Yes, Sherry your home turf. What is the geology tour, sounds interesting. Thank you Sherry.
Beautiful photos Leanne. I’m looking forward to the next batch from the U,S.
Thank you Anne, I didn’t realise I wasn’t using this blog back then and it is good to hear you want to see more. I will have to repost the images from the day we spent together.
One of many NYC beauties!
It certainly is Marcia, I say others as well. Thank you.
