Tasmanian Wanderings – The end is close to hand as we land in Launceston

We have left Cradle Mountain and travelled to Launceston today. Very different places, it was a lot colder at the mountain.

We have spent the day wondering why we were so hot, perhaps because we were wearing our winter mountain gear. I think I liked the cold more.

We have plans here for the next couple of days before we head back home on the Spirit of Tasmania.

It is sad that the the trip is coming to an end, but I have to admit I’m also looking forward to getting home. I love Tasmania and I really hope I will be back. Though if I come back I would probably do the trip a bit differently. I don’t like the constant moving around and would like to spend more time in one place exploring it more.

Today we didn’t do a lot but travel here. We did stop at a hazelnut farm which was fun. We were going to stop at another homestead place, but the price was more than we wanted to pay and you could only go inside on a tour, we chose to save our money.

The place we are staying in has amazing views and I’m going to share one with you. I’ve never been to Launceston before so I am looking forward to exploring it more. I don’t really have any photos today, it was a day for travelling and resting really. Hopefully, more tomorrow.

I had a comment telling me to stay home if all I’m going to do is complain. Now I know I complained about not having the internet at Cradle Mountain, but do the rest of you think I have talked about Tassie like I don’t like it here?

I just need to know, because I love Tasmania and I love travelling around it. I don’t want to give people the idea that I don’t like it.

  1. It’s crazy to expect that a trip would be totally perfect, there are always some aspects that disappoint or frustrate. Better by far to tell it like it is than to gloss over those things and pretend everything is rosy. It’s obvious that on balance you’ve really liked Tasmania, and if you’ve had a good time, that’s all that matters!

    1. I totally agree Sarah. I have to admit that place at Cradle Mountain was one of the only things we had to complain about, and it wasn’t so much that much but more because of the internet. I think it is good to be honest too. I would hope that others do the same. Thank you Sarah.

  2. Hi! You sounded like you really enjoyed Tasmania so no worries here ☺️

  3. I don’t think you have complained too much at all. I thought your rant about the high cost of accommodation only providing the very basics was justified and relatable.

    1. That’s good to hear Laura, I didn’t think I had complained too much. Exactly, you should be able to say when you think something is bad. Thank you Laura.

  4. Well, who ever made that comment to you is very rude, Leanne. Launceston looks like a very nice town. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

  5. Haters gonna hate. Pay those people no mind, Leanne. Personally, I like hearing what you don’t like. Not every trip is as brochure-perfect as some would have you believe.

    1. They are aren’t they Lois. I think it is important to share it as well. So very true, they aren’t all great. Thank you Lois.
