When I went to Phillip Island in early December last year we took a trip to the Nobbies. It is a rock formation that is out past the grand prix circuit and near where you can see the penguins coming in or going out. I’m not really sure as it is something I’ve never done. I’ve never been interested.
I have to admit the trip was kind of a surprise. In the morning we went to Churchhill Island so I didn’t take the photography gear that I wanted to use there. If I had known we were going to go I would have taken some other gear with me. Though if I’m honest I would’ve preferred to have gone there either early in the morning or later in the day.
I wasn’t happy.
I decided to video a lot of what I was seeing, so today there is a video for you.
I put a heap of photos in the video as well. I am going to put some of them in a gallery for you here, but if you want to see them all you will need to watch the video. It isn’t very long.
I hope you enjoy seeing my trip to the Nobbies, such a strange name for it, but somehow appropriate.
Hey! I absolutely love some of your posts. You’ve got a great blog. I’m new to blogging and would appreciate it if you could check out my blog sometime and give me a few pointers! Much appreciated! π βΊοΈ π π β€οΈ
Hi, so glad to hear you like my blog, but I am sorry I can’t look at your blog, I get asked constantly. Just look at what others do and you will pick it up. Good luck.

Wow Wow Leanne. Those photos spotted there at the Philips Island are stunning and beautiful, a real vacation indeedπ₯π₯π₯ππΊπ. Also, I love the little penguins visible there under those rocks so lovelyπ
Thank you so much, it is a stunning spot and the penguins were very cute.
I like this series, for sure a place to visit, unfortunately on the other side of the world !
Thank you Robert, I know the feeling, I feel that way when I look at other people’s blogs.
Love this, beautiful photos and cured… if just for a second. my seasonal depression, thank you.
That is lovely, I should post more summer photos. It has finally hit us and the heat is getting horrible. Thank you.
You’re welcome, and i am looking forward to seeing more of your photos!
Thank you, I’m sure you won’t have to wait long.
My wife and I visited the Nobbies a few years ago. Lovely place. I believe it was the breeding season when we visited. For some reason the gulls took exception to my wife, or more specifically, her hat. She was mobbed, with gulls dive bombing her head. She survived the experience. Loved you images. Did you take in the evening penguin show ?
Oh no your poor wife. the birds didn’t seem that bothered with us. Very noisy though. Thank you Bob and no didn’t stay for the penguin show. I have never done it and never really been interested.
This was really wonderful, Leanne. The video was great! It was like being there. And your photos were so beautiful. I really enjoyed this post.
That’s great to hear Tim, glad you liked it. Thank you so much.
You are welcome.

Thank you Jane, it is wonderful spot.
Reminds me pf my time on the north Coast of British Columbia. Unhappy as you were you still captured the spirit of the environment and brought back some happy memories for an old man. Thanks
That is great that it has brought back happy memories, I like that a lot. Thank you Brian.
A wonderful site and also much wildlife I think.
Thank you, I think it is a breeding ground for seagulls, so it is quite protected.
Great video Leanne. I loved how you incorporated the stills and the sounds. Beautiful.
Thank you Anne, I like the stills as well, I was hoping it would give another element to the video.
Such a beautiful place, Leanne! The video is great, so much power and beauty in the ocean. β€οΈ
It is John, and it was really nice there. That is great about the video, I don’t know that I am very good at doing them, but I like doing them, if that makes sense. Thank you John.
