We’re going on a summer holiday for Lens-Artists Challenge #377

While most of the world celebrates Christmas in winter, in Australia it is summer. It is also the time for summer holidays, and most people take time off during this time. One of the things many Australians do is head to the beach, so that is what I am presenting to you for this challenge of HOLIDAY FUN set for us this week by Ann-Christine from Leya.

This is the first one. I love trying to get the movement of water when I’m at the beach.

Summer is a time for sunsets and summer storms. We get a lot, and the most damage our house has ever gotten has been in the summer.

Here is something you might see in summer.

This is another sunset down at the beach.

I’m not a fan of swimming at the beach and really don’t do it. I hate salt water, but I do love to get down to them to take photos. The best sunsets are in summer.

Thank you to Ann-Christine for being our host. Sorry, no Christmas photos. I don’t really do them anymore. It is often too hot to get out, and you have to stay up too late to see the lights. Ahh, Christmas in summer is so much fun.

  1. I love water, so these are FABULOUS. I grew up across the street from Lake Michigan. It’s a huge body of water, people are always surprised, it looks like the ocean and acts like it to, similar to your FANTASTIC photos. Love this first one. I used to dive into those waves, dangerous, because the wave would swirl us kids around in sandy water, we’d be holding our breath trying to get to the surface. Even though we were afraid, we did it over an over. My mother would have been furious if she had known. She never learned to swim… we did not know that as kids and we wondered why she would yell at us to come back to shore, not swim too far away. HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY!

    1. I love photographing water, but not really being in it. I had a cousin that used to dunk me under the water all the time and a couple of times I thought I was going to drown, so not to keen on it. We couldn’t swim as kids and it amazes me now how we used to go and swim in a dam with no adults. Stupid really when I look back on it. There is so much stuff here about doing things safely. I can’t imagine how scared your mother would have been, different times I guess. Sounds like it was a great time for you as kids though. YOu have a great holiday too, and thank you.
