This last week I spent a couple of days down on Phillip Island. An old friend of mine, Teresa, has a house down there and I went to spend a couple of days with her. On my last day she took me to Churchill Island. It is a farm, or was, but we didn’t go into the farm part. There is a great big walk around the island so we did that instead.
It was overcast, but you get the idea. We even saw some animals and Cape Barren geese. I love the geese. They seem to be everywhere on Phillip Island. They also have some crazy trees there, they are called Moonah trees. They were amazing.
If I get back, I will spend some time in the farm part. It is only about $12.50 to get in, so not expensive. We did have lunch in the cafe which was great.
The school holidays are coming to a close and school will be back in the next week or so. I have to say I like it when they go back, things don’t seem so mad. Also means summer is coming to an end, and I can’t wait. I’m not a summer person.
Here are some of the photos I took on Churchill Island.
Love the horse and the trees have a dream like quality to them. So glad you are almost done with summer. I really get it now. I’ve been loving winter .
Thank you Nicci, I hope so, though we might still have another couple of months of hot weather, but hoping winter comes soon. I love winter too, it’s the best time of year.
I love the Moonah trees. They are very striking. As always, lovely shots.
I think I love them as well Patti, they are so interesting. Thank you.
The topography, vegetation, and wild life in Australia are fascinating to us–who grew up on other continents. I’ve been to Oz twice and can’t wait to go back.
It is, though it does come with a lot of responsibility, we are the sole protectors and have to make sure they are protected. It is a nice country, and I hope when you come back you come and say hello to me.
Definitely, Leanne. I’m planning on taking one of your night photography classes….I can’t wait!
Thank you Patti, that would be great. would love to do some with you.
I’m looking forward to that!
π π
very impressive to look at the weather.
Thank you.
These are really beautiful :)!
Thank you.
Lovely photos around Churchill Island. The clouds certainly gave a moody feel which seems to work with what you took photos of π It looked pretty quiet from your photos, but then again, maybe the people and visitors were behind you, lol.
“I have to say I like it when they go back, things donβt seem so mad.” I have to agree. Places seem much more crowded and queues longer this time of the year, not to mention noisier. Can be hard to get a clean shot when people are all round. Earlier today I went to the Australian Open tennis – last day, but still plenty of people around.
Thank you Mabel, overcast can be great sometimes. It was a bit, though many in the cafe. I think it was the start of the long weekend so people were still travelling there.
I know, I will be glad when the holidays are over, makes it easier for me, I can go back to the beach again. YOu were brave going to the tennis, I haven’t been there for years.
Those trees look very windblown.
They do, I love the way they almost look skeletal.
