Connections with my local area – Banyule Flats and Heidelberg

This morning I went out for a big walk in Banyule Flats and Heidelberg. It was a really foggy frosty winter morning and I thought I would share a few photos from it.

I live in this area and I feel a strong connection to it, especially after being here for 30 years.Β  We weren’t that happy to live here initially and thought we had made a major mistake. However, over the years we have realised how lucky we are to have all this parkland within walking distance.

So in keeping with the Lens-Artist Challenge of connections this week I thought I would show you a place that is close to my heart.

  1. Tranquil! The Australian Heidelberg is so different from the one in Germany πŸ˜€.

  2. Leanne, you live in such a beautiful place. It is easy to see why you feel so connected to it, loved seeing your pictures!

  3. Our worlds couldn’t be more geographically separate Leanne, and yet your image of the 2 trees reminded me very much of home. Beautiful

  4. The great thing about living in a beautiful place is that you revisit often, get to know it and can catch its different moods throughout a day or season. It thus becomes becomes a familiar friend to our eyes ( and lens!).

  5. Dear Leanne
Reading Heidelberg I think of a romantic German university city which is quite touristy.
Thanks for showing us your Heidelberg

    1. That’s for sure John, the other thing that is great about it is that it seems to be hidden gem, so we don’t get inundated with people. Gotta love that. Thank you.
