It didn’t quite happen on New Years day but last Monday we got a lot of rain. It was glorious. It did seem like a while since we had any. It just rained and rained and then I had to head out with the camera.
I used the normal camera and macro lens for these. I did try the macro lens on the infrared camera and you get the light spot in the middle of images. Though I can use my Lensbaby Velvet 56 on it, so something.
There are flowers, but with all the hot weather I’m finding it hard to keep it alive. I’m learning a lot. I’m still trying to plant things, probably not a great idea, but I need more flowers.
So here is a few from the other day.
Dave is feeling better, though his mouth still hurts, hardly surprising when you get a tooth removed. So good news there.
I’m still running behind. I got addicted to a YouTube channel and I can’t stop watching the videos. Tomorrow will be my catch up day for you all. Sorry.
We are going through a drought too. We got one HUGE rain right after Christmas, but mostly it has been very dry. Normally we get a lot of rain and snow, though I’m not sure what normal is anymore. Keep planting but try to find someone who knows plants and can tell you what will thrive in dry conditions. You might have to occasionally water plants, even if you just you a watering can. Flowers work better if you plant ones that thrive in your conditions — AND are not eaten by local creatures who much on vegetation. For us the big one is deer. Everything we plant is unattractive to deer and hopefully, to skunks too.
We aren’t in a drought Marilyn, we have been getting pretty good rain, though it is normal here not to get much in summer. I water my plants all the time, the water bill is going to be huge. I love flowers. Though I don’t think I need to water as much as I have been, but that is something I need to sort out. The biggest eater in my garden are snails. they can much on a lot. No deer or skunks here. Though I did see a kangaroo jumping on the other side of the road the other morning, but they don’t come into out garden. Thank you Marilyn.
Beautiful!
Thank you Nancy.
I hope your flower planting goes well this year! I know what you mean about watching a YouTube channel you like…and then they give you new suggestions and you find new things. lol
Thank you Esther, the planting is going well it is more about trying to keep them alive in the heat. I know, YouTube can be so addictive. I’m watching a person reacting to horrible things that happen at wedding, kind of funny. lol
Beautiful flowers!
Thank you Nora.
Addicted to a You Tube channel–I can so relate! 😉
It is becoming an obsession now, Charlotte Dobre and reactions to wedding stuff, some is very funny. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Our New Year ended a month’s long rain; rare for that time of year. We’ve had sun for a few days now and it feels great. Your flowers are beautiful and so are your images. I’ve been thinking about taking my macro lens to a nursery; maybe today.
That is a lot of rain Anne. Apparently La Nina is heading towards us, so we can expect a wet Autumn, we seem to get so much more rain these days. Thank you, I”m loving what is happening out there. It sounds like an excellent idea, do it.
A beautiful shot.
Thank you Margaret.
