We haven’t been to my garden for floral Friday for a while and I thought it might be nice to get back into it. Still, not a lot going on.
A couple of weeks ago a friend took me to the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens that feature many Australian Native flowers. It is a great place to see many.
It is time and I have decided that I am getting some macro flowers printed to replace some images in a local cafe, Four Leaves.
I know I said that I would do Floral Friday images from my garden, but it has to be said that Alowyn Gardens is like my second garden.
Yesterday I ran a macro photography class at Alowyn Gardens. Seems I can’t get away from teaching and I’m planning on doing more.
Last week I mentioned Dahlias and this week I wanted to tell you about the 2nd flower that is a favourite of mine, chrysanthemums. Every time I think of them I remember that scene from Anne of Green Gables when they were spelling the name of them.
Since we have been looking at so many macro shots it seemed like a good idea to use one of those for Monochrome Wednesday. This is a cosmos flower that I photographed at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.
One of the things that I love about visiting the MIFGS each year is catching up with the Struman Optics team and their lenses. This year I’ve been playing with a new macro lens for my phone.
The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show started on Wednesday and I have been there the last two days. Floral Friday is all about the photos I have from the show for you.
Yesterday, I had a trip to Alowyn Gardens. I think it is one of the best places to test lenses for macro photography. Right now there are flowers everywhere. It was fantastic to see it all.
