The dahlias are finished for the year, but I thought it might be nice to take another look at them for Floral Friday. I can’t wait for them to be back.
Floral Friday – Dahlias
All the dahlias in my garden have now died off for winter. I will need to get out there and cut them off. Though I am trying to decide whether I should dig up the tubers or not. I have heard mixed reasons for doing it and I don’t know what to do. At the end of the day, I will probably leave them in there and make sure they get a great feed over the next coming months.
Most of them flowered this year. That was really good, but they could have been a lot better. I am learning more and more about the garden all the time.
Macro photography
I really enjoy teaching macro photography and having a great garden could mean I can teach classes here. That would be so good.
There is also the possibility that I might be able to get more students if I do macro. I’m also very well equipped for it. I have a lot of gear and a camera that people can borrow for the class to try out the stuff I have. It is good sharing and showing people different ways of photographing flowers.
Next class
Negotiations are also underway with Alowyn Gardens for the next class. It is most likely going to be next month. We will be photographing The Winter Garden. Should be interesting.
When I know when it will be I will give more details.
Gallery
One thing I am exploring with flowers is looking at details and playing with the aperture. So I have three different types of images for you today. All Dahlias.
Nice. Our dahlias are taking off now on this side of the globe. It’s been crazy hot here.
Nice, though it does sound very early, ours are all dead now. Thank you.
Stunning!!
Thank you.
So beautiful and the bee in the feature photo is breathtaking
Thank you Prior, yeah, I think the petals of the flower really helped with it.

Beautiful images, Leanne.
Thank you Cornelia.
