Getting macro flowers printed

It is time and I have decided that I am getting some macro flowers printed to replace some images in a local cafe, Four Leaves.

I have been invited by a gallery to exhibit some works in a show at the end of the year. There is always the possibility of getting new work printed for it, but I decided I would use some that I have had in a local cafe for a while. I am going to use three of them and then hang some new photos.

I haven’t really printed any of my macro photos. This seemed like a good opportunity to do that. Not only see what they are like printed but also to see how they look when they are framed as well. The printer I am using is new as well. I thought it would be a good way to see if I will use them for my exhibition prints next year.

Decisions

I have so many macro flower photos so the choice was not easy. In the end, I enlisted the help of a friend. She let me know which ones she liked and then I narrowed it down. It took a while but I got it down to four. There are three horizontal and one vertical which should work well.

Here are the ones I’m getting printed. I hope you like them as well.

  1. Gorgeous photos. I love taking Macro shots of flowers. I was thinking of getting a couple printed, just to see what they look like. I’m sure yours will look amazing. Cheers.

    1. Thank you Chris, I’m just going with basic frames, ones I can use again. I’m getting them printed on a fine art paper with a texture. The frames are just black.

  2. I like all of them, but I think the orange Dahlia & the Agapanthis are my favourites. For the Dahlia it’s that sunburst look and with the Agapanthis it’s the contrast of fine texture on the leaf and the rich texture for the awaiting bloom inside.
