Free week again and I was looking at some photos from country Victoria for something else, and realised I had quite a few images that I had done in monochrome from past challenges. It seemed like a good reason to show them again.
I am always looking for excuses to repost some of these over and over. I love going out of the city and into the country to take photos. I have a friend that I go out with. We will plan a day and go to see what we can find. I also do a lot of photos when I go to visit my mum. Actually, most of the photos below are from there.
It is always nice to go back through photos and remember your trips to these places. Some are still there, some are not. The last time I went to the place where the last photo was taken, you couldn’t see them because they were covered with water.
Next week is Monochrome Madness #46, and our host is Margaret from From Pyrenees to Pennines, and she has chosen the theme Clocks and Timepieces. Going to have to put the thinking cap on for that one and see if I can remember the photos I have for it.
Participating in Monochrome Madness
If you would like to participate in this challenge, please post photos on your blog and use the tag Monochrome-Madness, then we can all use the reader to see what you post.
You can also leave a pingback, do they still call them that? Basically, you put a link to the host’s monochrome madness post in your post, and it leaves a link in the comment section.
Don’t forget to check out the Monochrome Madness page. On this page, the next theme is announced and there is also all the information for participating. Please go and check it out. Click on the Monochrome Madness heading in the menu.
hello leanne,
You’ve chosen a wonderful and very interesting selection for this week. I particularly like the first, second, and last ones.
Here is my contribution for this week: https://wp.me/pfnz9O-Wa.
Many greetings, Robert
Thank you Robert.
I like the drama of your ruins and the silo art! I’ve put together a few initial edits of my photos taken on last week’s trip to Florence: https://www.toonsarah-travels.blog/gallery-seeing-florence-in-black-and-white/
Thank you Sarah. I will have to go and take a look.
Thse are so good, silos-art-lascelles-victoria-monochrome-2, loved that, and brim-silos-painted-portraits-monochrome. Thse look so good in monochrome. Mine is https://sillarit.com/2025/11/05/texture-and-light/
Thank you so much Ritva, it was surprising how they worked.
Dear friend Leanne, your monochrome captures feel like little postcards of memory, soft and timeless.
Thank you so much Dinesh.
The shearing shed and old car are my favourites Leanne.
I did something different this week

I loved that shearing shed, it was over 100 years old, which for here is pretty old. Thank you Brian.
These have a lovely atmospheric and olde worlde feel. A short post from me this wek. Time poor! https://margaret21.com/2025/11/05/shadowy-london/
Thank you Margaret.
Nice photos! I agree that it’s always fun to remember while looking through old photos and see the changes that have occurred. Where is the place from your last photo? What are those walls?
Thank you Esther, yeah, going through your old photos can be like doing trips again. The last photo was once a railway bridge, but when they turned the area into a dam they got rid of everything but the walls that held up the rails. It is often underwater, so you can’t them very often.
Oh wow, that is an interesting story about the walls. It’s lucky you got to see the walls. That’s a lot of history right there!
It is lucky, I will have to wait until we don’t have any rain for a few years to see them again. Sometimes we can see the top of them.
Somewhat haunting, but beautiful.
Thank you Sandy.
Great post Leanne. I love your black and whites and reposts.
Thank you so much Anne.
Those silos are something else! Wowee!

Thank you Elke.
When you look around, the country is full of amazing stuff to shoot. I really dig your grain elevator shots…
It is, especially with what is happening in it with people constantly leaving. Thank you Matt.
Some good ones here, looking forward tov MM#46 next week
Thank you Sue, should be a good one I’m sure.
Cool
Stunning monochrome. I love this series.
Thank you Vicki.
An excellent series 😊😊. A few I remember and like them as much as the first time, love the silos.
Thank you Ted, good to hear.
