Welcome back.
As we spoke last week we talked about maybe having other hosts for Monochrome Madness. I’ve had a couple of people reach out and we’re trying to work out the details. I think I might add a page to my menu on the left so if people need to know what is next we can put it there, plus the link to the person hosting. It is still a work in progress.
This week I have another flower. I am enjoying experimenting with the flowers to see what works for monochrome and what doesn’t.
This is a new dahlia I have and this is the first time it has flowered. It was a surprise one. I really like it and know I will photograph it a lot.
Do you like monochrome flowers?

Hi Leanne
we really like monochrome pictures of flowers. We are fans of monochrome photography. Monochrome photography is honest. It shows that it is an artefact.
Keep well

ARen’t they great, I love them too. Thank you so much.
I do like monochrome flowers, dahlias as particularly good for it, like yours π
That’s what I think Sofia, they are fantastic for it. I might have to try doing some darker colours, see what I get. Thank you.
Lovely flower. I experimented with some flowers I have on file. The blackcurrant salvia which I chose surprised me – it’s a stunning bright red and I never thought it would work well in monochrome. But I think it does: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2024/01/30/blackcurrant-sage/
Thank you Elke, I took a look, but haven’t got any further yet. Sorry.
The Dahlia is a good subject Leanne, good form and texture π
