Monochrome Madness – Carrots flowering in the backyard

Free week this week, and I wanted to share an image that I did a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been trying more macro still life images, and doing more at home. I suppose I should say more inside, as I am always taking photos outside in my garden.

I have some carrots out the back that I let go to seed because I love the flowers. I brought some inside, ones at different stages to photograph. I set up a backdrop near a window and then put my camera with the macro lens on my tripod. I still don’t think I am very good with this sort of photography, but it was fun to try it out.

This is what I ended up with. I think converting it to monochrome was the best thing for it, as the original flower did not have a lot of colour in it anyway.

Next theme is CIRCLES and our host is Dawn from The Day After for Monochrome Madness #53. That is pretty open ended, so it should be a good one.
