Well, it is time for Monochrome Wednesday yet again and I thought it might be nice to show you my favourite view of Melbourne. It isn’t surprising. No, not really.
Monochrome Wednesday – My favourite view
It is a view I have photographed many times. Over the years of going into Melbourne, this has always been my favourite. There are others that I also enjoy as well, but this is the one I love the most.
Last year the city put some pontoons in front of it and I was really sad. You know how it is, the local government authority often don’t consider what sites would appeal to photographers. It can be so annoying. The people who live here spend so much time showcasing what a stunning place Melbourne it to photograph and the City of Melbourne keep making it ugly. I wish they would talk with photographers so they knew what they were destroying.
Okay, okay, rant over. I’m happy to say the ugly pontoons are gone and my favourite view is back.
The view in monochrome
I took this two weeks ago. Usually, for these, I don’t do them in monochrome like this. However, since this day is for challenging myself I thought, why not see what I can get. I did it in black and white first, then added the slight blue tone to it. For some reason, I am very attracted to the blue hues of monochrome images. That could change.
If you would like to participate the instructions are at the bottom of the post. Take care.
Joining in
It would be great if you would like to participate, especially if you are enjoying the monochrome challenge again. If you want to contribute there is a Facebook group, TPM Photos which you can join and share your images. Of course, if you are blogging no reason why you can’t post your own. I like this challenge and it is nice to be thinking in monochrome again.
What a city! 👏
That’s for sure, thank you Julie.
Beautiful, Leanne. I do love the subtle bluish tone. It adds a coolness. Made me think of the first morning light when the air is still cool and everything is soft.
Thank you Tim, yeah, I thought it would look better. I like your description, thank you.
You are welcome. I am so glad to see you posting some of your favorite photos again. Makes me smile.
Thank you Tim.
