Floral Friday – Groups with the Lensbaby

I went out the other morning to take photos of the yellow flower below with the Lensbaby Velvet 56 on my Fujifilm X-T3.

I purchased three of these flowers last autumn, and they went dormant over the winter and this is the only one that came up again in spring. I hate it when that happens. You can only get these flowers in autumn and then it turns out that they are a waste of money when they don’t come up again.

I am glad I did get one and what a wonderful flower it is. Though it is a lot smaller than I remember. I first saw it quite a few years ago and I’ve been trying to get one ever since.

The purple one is an aster, I think it is called a New York aster, but don’t quote me on that.

Take care everyone. Seems appropriate for flowers today, one it is International Women’s Day, but it also happens to be my wedding anniversary. Dave and I have been married for 34 years now.

Happy Anniversary Dave.

    1. Sometimes plants are not of good quality. I got my money back once for a plant that had a very poor root structure when I planted it, which subsequently failed. I had to measure the pH of the soil to show that it should have been okay but it was an expensive plant so it was worth it.

    2. I hadn’t thought of that, though my plants haven’t cost a lot of money, but I am starting to think I need to start testing my soil. I’m having trouble with a few things. This winter I’m going into soil prep mode big time.

  1. A beautiful photo, and happy anniversary you two! 34 years is wonderful, Leanne. πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈ
