Floral Friday – Some close ups from Alowyn Gardens

After using the tripod quite a bit in my own garden, it was time to try it out at a different place. When my friend and I went to Alowyn Gardens, I took the tripod with me.

I have to admit I was a bit worried that it would make me too slow, but I don’t think it held us up at all. I was glad that I had been practicing at home quite a bit, so I am already getting faster at setting up my shots.

I wasn’t sure how it would go at the gardens, but I actually found it meant I could get closer to the flowers. Unlike at home I couldn’t just go trapsing into the garden beds.Β It was good to be able to put the tripod into the garden to take a photo, where I couldn’t step into it.

I have for you three of the images that I took with my new camera on my tripod, Bucky, with the 80mm macro lens. I will be processing more of the images, as there are a lot of them.

  1. I love that white Portuguese Squill flower. I had to look it up and find it’s name.
It looks very effective as a flower photo with the black background.

    1. It is a great flower, I would love to get the white one, I have purple ones that I got from my mother, but don’t know where to get the white one. It is a great flower to photograph. Thank you Vicki.
