Tina has said the challenge this week, and it is the word ephemeral. You will need to go to her post for a more detailed definition, but my understanding is that it is gone in a flash, blink and you’ll miss it, fleeting moments, you get the idea.
I considered missing this one, but then I started thinking about what I have that I could use for it.
First was flowers. They are so beautiful, but they never last long. They look great the day they finally blossom, and then in a day or two, brown spots start to appear on them. Before you know it, the flower is done. Enjoy them while you can.
How could I not do cakes? They never last, especially here. If the cake is tasty they go in a flash. I am happy anytime someone lets me eat cake.
I’m including some autumnal photos too because here in Australia, well, where I live, this time of the year seems to have become a blink and you miss it. I think it lasts about 3 weeks.
That’s it from me this week. Thank you, Tina, for being our host this week. The link to her post is at the start of this post.

Wonderful photography Leanne …
Thank you Julie.
What a great response to this challenge! Loved them all.
Thank you Anne.
Some great examples, especially the yummy cakes. The 2nd last one looks like a flan from the Hopetoun Tearooms in the city.
You have a good eye Vicki, that is where it is from, I’m afraid my cooking is not that good. Thank you.
Love the opening photo – looks delish!!
Thank you Nora.
So many temptations 😀..
Thank you PR
Your flowers are as beautiful as always and you have some lovely autumn colour too, but including cakes was an inspiration!
Thank you Sarah, glad you liked those ones.
Beautiful response to the challenge. Love your choices of nature and the cakes!
Thank you so much Beth.
I like this set of photos, Leanne. Vibrant!
Thank you Hazel.
I always find your photography so inspiring!
Thank you so much Freya.
I loved the post, especially for the food shots. Yes, I can relate to food being ephemeral, too.
Thank you Egidio.
Flowers and tasty treats are a good way to go for this challenge!
Thank you Margaret.
“Fantastic Leanne” said a drooling Steve Hyde 🙂
Hahahaha Thank you Steve.
Fun choices beautifully captured Leanne. Flowers are a perfect example and the pastries look truly delicious. As for autumn, it’s a lovely season but I think too short most everywhere!
Thank you Tina, it is sad how short autumn is these days. It used to be the best time in Melbourne.
Beautiful images Leanne, those cakes would be gone in a flash here too! 🧡 xxx
Good cakes never last, thank you Xenia.
A wonderful gallery, Leanne! I’m especially drawn to the cupcakes. My late-in-life allergy to gluten has taken away the ephemeral pleasure of a simple piece of cake. The Gluten-Free substitutes I have occasionally are OK, but a poor substitute. >grin<
Oh how horrible John, I think I would be so devastated if that happened to me. Thank you John.
Those desserts look yummy!
Thank you John.
So true about cakes and yours look yummy! I think Autumn feels so special because it’s so short-lived and your photos are simply stunning, Leanne.
Thank you Sofia.
I love the choice of cakes, I wouldn’t that thought of that!
I had to include them, lol. Thank you Beth.
