For the last post of the year we have been asked to post some last chance photos. I think the idea is to post photos that you haven’t done for Lens-Artists this year, however, I decided to go with some photos from one of my last outings to take photos.
I went to Alowyn Gardens a couple of weeks ago to pick up my Christmas present and while there I also went around the gardens with my camera, macro lens and tripod. I know some of you know that I have been using my tripod a lot for my macro photography. I find I am getting a lot better results and sometimes I get things like bees. I have always photographed bees, but I got some great ones using the tripod.
Here are some of them.
As it is summer now, there are lots of flowers out right now. A great time to be a macro flower photographer here right now. These are just a few of the images I got that day.
It has been a great year, and I’ve enjoyed doing the Lens-Artists Challenge and am looking forward to next year as well. Though I will miss the first one, as I have something else planned. I’m not saying Merry Christmas or anything like that yet, I still have quite a few posts before that.
Also, it seemed appropriate to use macro photos for this last one of the year because when I look at my photos, I have taken something like 20 times more macro photos than anything else. I have over 60 folders full of images because I love getting out in my garden. I think next year I’m going to be posting a lot more of my macro photos, and I hope you will be there for them.
Don’t forget to check out the lens-artists tag in the reader to see everyone else’s posts.
Not many flowers around here now so lovely to see yours and flowers plus bees, what could be more delightful.
I will have to show you a lot more RJ, brightened your day. Thank you.
Those flowers are stunning.
Thank you Dawn.
Beautiful gallery!!
Thank you Nora.
A treat to see your beautiful flower images during the English winter!
Thank you Sarah, I will have to keep showing more for you.

Good morning 🌄🌅
Good afternoon.
The flower macros are superb, Leanne.
I’m looking forward to seeing more images in 2026.
I hope you have a great Christmas and an even better photographic start to the New Year. Stay safe on your travels and outdoors. You know how foodhardy Australian drivers can be during this holiday time.
Thank you so much Vicki.
Thankfully we aren’t going anywhere this year, so no roads and idiots for us. YOu have a great Christmas too and all the best for the new year. Take care.
Fabulous flowers Leanne 😀
Thank you Brian.
What a treat, Leanne! I love your macros! All the best in 2026.
Thank you Patti, and all the best to you as well.
Beautiful and unexpected! You give a reason to try carrying my tripod when I’m doing macro.
Thank you Egidio and that is good to hear, I can’t imagine not using mine now.
Gorgeous macros Leanne, you’ve inspired me to bring my tripod out for macro-photography too! 💖🙏 xxx
Thank you Xenia, I hope you find the tripod helpful too.
Lovely to give an outing to these delightful macros.
Thank you so much Margaret.
Beautiful images as always Leanne. Since this will be my last week on WP for the year I’ll take a moment to wish you all the best for the holidays and a wonderful New Year.
Thank you Tina. I hope you have a great Christmas, if you celebrate it, and all the best for the new year.
Pretty pretty 🙂!
Thank you PR.
Stunning Leanne. Merry Xmas 🙂
Thank you Steve and Merry Christmas to you and yours too.
I love your macros Leanne and want to see more of them. So post away!
Thank you Anne, that is good to hear.
❤️
😍
Beautiful!
Thank you.
Leanne, thank you for these beautiful flowers!
Thank you for admiring them Beth.
I will definitely be there for them! Are the second group of blooms, except for the red flower, peonies? So pretty.
That’s great to hear Lois, I am sure there will be plenty. Thank you.
Slowly Ellen has been shooting more close, almost macro, photography. Shifting from Canon to OM means new ‘stuff’. We have such a jungle of little critters around us I might look at things a bit closer 😆
Close up is so good, I love the world you see with it. I look forward to seeing your close ups too Ted. Thank you.
I’m going to give it a try, but Ellen has a much better eye for details. PassingByPhoto.com is her site BTW.
YOu will have someone to learn from then, lol. Thanks for the site address I’ve been having a look around. I was going to ask you for it. How do you subscribe to it?
I worked it out, all good.
😁😁. Let Ellen do the hard work… As for subscribing I assume a button to follow. Maybe bottom of the page ? Never looked LOL.
Yeah, I found the subscribe button, so all good, I’m following her now. 😜😜
😁. While we go out together we try to go in different directions. Doesn’t always work out that way though 😃. She’s also not afraid to get right out there in the boonies.
When I go out with others I’m always too busy talking to go in a different direction. lol
🤣🤣. Stick to landscapes… critters can be sensitive to that sort of thing. 😆. I have a friend who was a videographer when he first came down. He would carry all kinds of stuff out there. At times it looked like he was carrying the Eiffel Tower 😂.
Absolutely Ted, I don’t know that I want to do critters, don’tmind doing birds, but that’s it. Yeah, I used to go out with all my gear, I got over that.
After my ‘neck replacement’ I had to minimize my gear. After lots of research I now can carry everything I need…in my purse. Thats what I call me small camera bag 😝
I have to admit after putting so much strain on my back, I realise I don’t have to take everything and work out the minimum of what I need.
😁, I carried a spare battery the other day 🤣
I always have one with me too. 😜😜😍
😁
WP is creating havoc again 🥹. My responses have either gone into space, or when I look at the comments page they are not saved…😳.
Could be I’m a bit slow to get them at the moment, my mum has arrived and time is short.
No, but it’s fun when mum arrives and throws things off 😆.
Lately WP does not save the ‘likes’ in comments unless I reply. At times a reply isn’t necessary, just acknowledgement. Anyway it causes confusion 🥹
I don’t know what is happening with WP these days, it does some funny stuff.
Yeah, but the alternative would take way too much work 🥹
Yes, I think you could be right there.
😊
