One thing that I didn’t realise when I went to Castlemaine was how many Churches there are there.
Recently, I was having a discussion about photography and why you take photos. I know some people take them for memories to remind them of where they have been, and to an extent, I do that too, especially when I travel. However, if I’m honest, I go to places to take photos. If I can’t take photos, then I don’t like going. My photos are the starting point for my artwork, and I go from there. I like to see what I can do with them. Though I don’t seem to spend as much time on them anymore, I must get back to that.
This trip to Castlemaine was exactly for the reason for me to get images to work on at some stage. When I took my American friends there to catch the train I was looking around and realised that I wanted to go back and take more photos, so I asked a friend if she would go with me.
We went all over the place to get photos.
For this pos,t I wanted to concentrate on the Churches. I also took my infrared camera with me, but I want to be able to take colour photos as well. So you can see the first two images are colour, but the third one is infrared. I got so carried away, and I forgot to get a photo of the third church in colour.
The first one is actually from Malmsbury. We stopped there on the way. It is a lovely town too.
Do you have a favourite?
I have lots more photos to show you over the next few weeks.
I admire your photography skills. I love all the photos your have posted on your blog site. Incredible!
Thank you Amy, that is such a lovely thing for you to say, I appreciate your words.
Nice photos
Thank you.
The perfect subject for your style, nicely done.
Oh…and if I can’t take photos I don’t go.
Yeah, I think so too, thank you Ted.
Exactly.
They all look good to me.
That’s great, thank you.
Beautiful! 😎❤️
Thank you Darryl.
They are all great, but the infrared is a standout. It’s so moody.
Thank you Anne.
Some churches are ominous enough, but the infrared adds a whole nother dimension. These are wonderful, Leanne–especially the skies.
I like hearing that Lois, thank you so much.
These are all fine photos, but the b/w accentuates the structure and decorative detail of the church.
Thank you Margaret, that is interesting.
