A Sunday in Infrared

This morning I had a lovely morning out with a new friend, David and his daughter. We went down to Frankston with the hope of doing some long exposures. Unfortunately there were no clouds and it was a little bit boring. We then headed to Mordialloc. The company was good, the sky was too clear.

I took the infrared camera with me, which turned out to be a great idea. Recently I purchased a red filter from Formatt Hitech to try out with. I remember in the days of film they would use a red filter with them, so I wondered what it would be like now with digital.

It was interesting, actually and I liked the effect. I will have to try it some more. Hopefully on days that are more interesting. I would really like to try it on days where the skies are quite overcast.

I hope you have been having a good weekend.

    1. No, you have inspired me to give that a try next time I’m out west…I have a host of #25 Wratten reds to fit my lenses from my film days.

    2. I thought you might, I got a new one, to find my new filter system. It was interesting, I hope you try it and let me know how you go Robert.
