Catching up and things to come

Christmas is sneaking up fast and when I sat down to think about it I realised I better get shopping. Thankfully, I don’t have to do a lot and there aren’t that many people I have to buy presents for. I do like that. It is a good time for me to work on things while a lot of people are very busy. I work at home on my own, so Christmas parties and catch ups are not really part of my world.

Teaching Photo Editing

For a while I’ve been trying to work out a way to do a video course that I could sell and help people learn how to edit their photos. Working out what to do isn’t hard, but how to sell them has been a bit tougher. Questions like, where do I put the videos so people can see them, but not steal them and show them around? Nothing is ever going to be absolutely safe, but I knew there had to be another way.

The decision has been made to make a new group on Facebook, and that group will be linked to The Photographer’s Mentor. It will be a subscription based group, so to be part of it you will have to pay a monthly amount. At this stage, based on the amount of time most people stay in groups, I will be charging $30 a month. It does seem a lot, but when you think about how much it would cost to pay others to teach you how to edit, it isn’t too bad.

In the group will be a lot of videos, covering how to do things like replacing a sky, to how to use curves. It will be for absolute beginners to people who want to know more than the basics. At this stage I’m planning on using several different types of software, so it won’t be only Lightroom and Photoshop. I want to be able to do videos with ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2018, ON1 Photo Raw, GIMP and Macphun.

There will be Live videos each week so people can ask me questions if they have any, or don’t understand something. Subscribers will be able to make requests for videos, and if I can do them I will.

While you are a paid up member you will have access to everything that is in the group. I want it to be interactive, so you will be able to share your images as well.

At this stage, I’m trying to think of a name for it, so far I’m leaning towards, Photo Editing with TPM, or TPM photo editing. What do you think?

Struman Optics Phone Lenses

They are running a competition so you can win a set of your own lenses. I think they are fantastic. You do have to follow them on Facebook and post a photo on the competition post to be in the running to win. To take a look go to Struman Optics.

If you don’t want to do that, there is still the code you can use that will give you 30% off the retail price, use the code social30 at the checkout. You can purchase the lenses on their website, strumanoptics.com.au.

All the photos in this post have been taken using the lenses. I’ve been having a lot of fun with them.

I think that is enough for today. Take care and I’ll see you again tomorrow for Monochrome Madness.

  1. Like your new title, and glad you kept “Daring to be different”. Once you get your mentorship program rolling, you can shorten it to “Leanne Cole, TPM” and have us wonder what’s TPM. 🙂
