Last week I took the Lensbaby Velvet 56 to Alowyn Gardens to get flowers with it and I thought it would be a good post for Floral Friday.
Now that I have the Fujifilm X-T3 the big question was how I would do macro photos with it. The answer was the Lensbaby Velvet 56 for Fujifilm. I have always loved the one I had for my DLSR. Knowing that it was going to be a lot cheaper to buy one than the macro lens from Fujifilm it seemed like a good option.
I love macro photography way too much to not do it. Though I know I still have it all for my DSLR and that will probably still be my main macro set up. You know sometimes you just want to take the macro lens with you so if you see some flowers you can use it. Carrying around two lots of gear can be a bit much at times.
The best option I could think of was the Lensbaby Velvet 56. It just made sense.
Alowyn Gardens with the Lensbaby Velvet 56
The lens arrived last week and on Friday I headed to Alowyn Gardens to capture some flowers with it. It is a great time to have a macro lens right now. Well in Australia it is. Though it won’t be for long as the heat of summer arrives.
I have a small collection of what I took last week. There isn’t much flowering in my garden right now, but the dahlias are coming up and other things are getting ready. We will have to muddle through.
The Velvet 56 was great and it was so nice being able to use my X-T3 with it. Can’t wait to try it out more.
So beautiful, especially the lily and the bell shaped flower- lovely photos
Thank you so much.
Beautiful work!!
Thank you Nora.
A lovely blend of sharpness and softness, beautiful flowers 🙂
Thank you Ruth, I think that is what I love about the Lensbaby lens.
