I have had mixed thought about this challenge, should I keep doing it or not. Then I was contacted by Joanne who wanted to know if I was going to keep doing it and that she wanted to do it as well. It seems Joanne used to do the challenge years ago when Robyn started it. Unfortunately Robyn is no longer blogging, like so many others, so I wasn’t sure, but I really don’t think she would mind if we continued. If you are reading this Robyn, I hope you like that we are carrying on.
I do think the name One Four is so much better than 1 image 4 ways, so we are going back to what Robyn called.
Next Thursday is the start of the new month, April and the first Thursday, so we are going to start over.
So for those of you who don’t know what the One Four Challenge is, let me explain.
You find one image, it can be of anything and each week, or four weeks you make changes to that photo. You can do whatever you like with it, just do something different each week.
For example here is a gallery of the last one I did.
Each week I attempted something different. It sounds like it would be easy, and the first two weeks often are, but when you get to the third and then the fourth it gets harder. I speak from experience.
There are no rules about what you can do. If you look at the week 4 image I achieved most of that by using AI in Photoshop.
How you do your post is up to you, though a short explanation of what you did would be great. I usually do a gallery starting with the original and then add each new photo each week so you can see the previous weeks.
It is important to add the tag One Four so it will show up under that tag in the reader. Then we can all see what you have done.
You can link your posts to Joanne and me, but I think using the reader is much better.
We would love it if others joined us and then see what we can do to our images. It is a good challenge because you can learn new things or experiment more. I love seeing how far I can push my images.
I’m not going to say anymore, but will leave a gallery with a few other images from this challenge. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
I think this is such an interesting idea for a challenge but I haven’t joined in previously because I don’t like doing lots of posts with a single image. Could it work if I were to do one post towards the end of the month with all four variations as well as the original, or would you prefer people to stick to your format?
I think it is up to you Sarah. I used to be the same with all the images, but I’ve been finding that sometimes people just like a few images, that’s just me and it isn’t up to me how you do you post.
Thanks, I may have a go then – some months at least!
Great news Sarah.
Hi Leanne, I thought I’d leave you a comment here too.
I am reading this. Have a lot of fun!!
I’m delighted that there is still interest in the One Four Challenge.. it used to be such fun to see everyone’s different images.
Thanks for mentioning me
Hello there Robyn, so nice to see you here.
I’m so glad to hear you are okay with us doing it and I really hope you join in too when you can. It was a lot of fun.
You’re welcome, had to mention who started it. Thanks Robyn.
I’m always interested to read these posts, but as you know, joining in this kind of challenge isn’t for me.
Good to know you are interested in them, and who knows maybe one of us will do something and you will think, hey I could do that. Thank you Margaret.
of the 5, I like the upper right the best
That’s great Beth, thank you.
Leanne, this challenge is just what I need to increase my post processing skills. Will we post on Wednesdays and what will it be called in the reader? We put our dog down yesterday and my mind is in a worse jumble than it usually is!
I post on Thursday, here, so you doing your Wednesday should work well. I think calling the One Four Challenge will be good, I’m happy doing that.
I’m so sorry to hear about your dog, that is never good news. You take care Anne. Thank you.
