Floral Friday – Dunedin Botanical Gardens
For the Floral Friday post today I thought it might be nice to show you some photos I took when visiting the Dunedin Botanical Gardens. I took a few, but have only prepared three.

Yesterday I ran a macro photography class at Alowyn Gardens. Seems I can’t get away from teaching and I’m planning on doing more.
To say it is getting crazy would be an understatement and so I thought a short post today with a flower for you to see. I photographed it in my garden.
Last week I mentioned Dahlias and this week I wanted to tell you about the 2nd flower that is a favourite of mine, chrysanthemums. Every time I think of them I remember that scene from […]
If you love dahlias, then you would love to do some weekend wanderings around Country Dahlias in Winchelsea. It is quite an amazing place.
Since we have been looking at so many macro shots it seemed like a good idea to use one of those for Monochrome Wednesday. This is a cosmos flower that I photographed at the Melbourne […]
When you love macro photography, especially when photographing flowers we get ones that we love or become our favourite. For me, mine would have to be dahlias.
A year or so ago I was going to post work by Leslie Gleim, but it didn’t happen, I stopped doing the posts. Today I am happy to show you Leslie’s work for my Influencing […]
During the week I had a quick trip to Alowyn Gardens. I was there to talk about doing some workshops, but I also spent some time in the gardens and thought it would be a […]
The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is over for the year and now I have 100’s of photos that I will need to sort through. Once that is done I can work out which […]
Yesterday was the first day of the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show and opening day was massive. There were so many people there.
A couple of weeks ago I talked about how this month is about the Flower and Garden Show here, lots of macro photography. It seems like a good time to show the work of Kathleen […]
It is now March and for me, that means it is the lead up to the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. I have been going for a few years now. It is always a […]
For today’s Weekend Wanderings I thought I would give you a look around some of the exhibits at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden show. For most of the days I went I was using […]
Macro photography can be done in many ways. You can choose which direction you want to go about it, whether that is through focus stacking or just having fun with it, being satisfied with what […]
Here is one from a while ago. While taking photos of poppies I couldn’t resist trying to get the bee as well.
A couple of weeks ago I was at Alowyn Gardens taking photos of the flowers before and after the rain. Water drops on flowers are fantastic, they really bring out the colours of the flowers.
Unfortunately I have no idea what these are, I want to say snow drops, but I am probably wrong.
Last weekend I taught my first macro photography class. It went well I think. I had a friend doing the class and she said she thought it was good.
Usually for these posts I show you a close up of a flower, but I thought it might be nice to show you one of Alowyn Gardens with the wisteria out in full bloom.
